Official consents are obtained
to commence the Iraqi Business Council activities
in Abu Dhabi supported by Abu Dhabi Chamber of
Industry and Commerce. The First meeting of the
Board of Directors was convened on 14/4/2004 to
approve and adopt plans and objectives and assign
the executive committees according to the following
components:
Large sectors of the Iraqi
people (Professionals, traders, firms’
owners and activists on other sectors) wish
to play a major role in the reconstruction
of Iraq. They believe that the Emirate of
Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates in
general are fully capable to take an active
part in the reconstruction of Iraq.
There is an urgent need
in the Iraqi market to establish investment
& consulting international and regional
entities and organizations to help the decision
makers in Iraqi and businessmen in U.A.E.
implement their plans and satisfy Iraq’s
requirements from the UAE market to the extent
that scores of sectors are established to
develop the economic and social structure,
establish holding companies and joint stock
investment companies.
The UAE, Arab and Foreign
businessmen and experts residing in the UAE
have the will to take part in the plans and
projects of Iraq reconstruction through a
council constituted under the supervision
of a well reputed expert cadre in both countries.
Such council must have the capacity to provide
information, support, relations and data to
ensure the fast arrival to the right investment
and business decisions on Iraqi projects.
The Council founders are
willing to establish and maintain an establishment
of a regional and international activity that
play a leading role in making researches and
holding conferences on the economical and
social development of Iraq, following the
procedures of what is later called Abu Dhabi
Forum.
